By using the new “Summon Search
Engine” I was able to find two possible presentation topics. My first one was
on History and how oral history plays a big part in stories from the military.
Ron Devlin had students go out and have relatives tell their stories of their
time in the military. I like this one a
lot because oral history comes from the person who lived and was there. The only
down side to it is when the person dies so does the story.
The other article that I found was
stories the military does not want told.
Olmsted goes on talking about how the military has to do things that it
does not want people to find out about because if they do the military will be
looked down upon.
For the one with Ron I can use it to show both my History and Military emphasis by talking to veterans and having them tell their stories. With Olmsted it will be hard to find stories from people who don’t want their stories to get out because the government does not want people to know about it.
